Upcoming events and courses

The year is well and truly underway and we’ve got a few exciting activities planned for the next couple of months.  Here are some key dates and events that we hope you’ll join us for.

Learn2Cox course – 22nd Feb.  Ever fancied learning how to cox, but feel daunted by giving commands and steering a boat?  Well don’t be…come and join our beginners coxing course on Sunday 22nd February at 10am where we will show you the basics and get you coxing.  The course is free. If you would like to learn how to cox then please email Alastair at captainofrowing@goringgapbc.org.uk to register your interest.

GoRow day – Saturday 28th March.  We will be holding an open day (10am-12pm) for anyone who would like to try out rowing, so bring a friend and come and give rowing a go.  Our coaches and club members will be on hand to help show you the ropes.

Spring Learn2Row – The next course will be run in April & May.  The course costs £125 and will be run over 6 sessions on the following dates 18th, 22nd (evening), 25th, 29th (evening) April and 2nd & 9th May.  Please email Stuart at captainofrowing@goringgapbc.org.uk to book a place or for more information.

Call for volunteers – As always we need volunteers to help with running our Spring Learn2Row, Learn2Cox and the GoRow day,…so if you are able to row or help out in anyway then please let Stuart and Alastair know by emailing us at captainofrowing@goringgapbc.org.uk.

Goring 10k running event – 1st March.  It is the biggest fun-raiser for Goring’s local primary school so a really worthwhile cause, and a great reason to get you out training! The event is on Sunday 1st March and they’ll be providing smiling marshals, cheering supporters, beautiful countryside as well as flapjacks, jelly babies and bananas to all runners. It’s a brilliant day!  Tickets are selling fast, so to find out more and sign up, visit www.goring10k.co.uk.

Goring & Streatley regatta 2015 – Saturday 25th July. A great day out for all the family and some superb novice rowing too.  More info on the club website www.goringgapbc.org.uk/
