Membership

Thinking of joining Goring Gap Boat Club? Membership is open to all and we welcome new members of all abilities.

There are 2 ways to become a member at Goring Gap Boat Club:

  1. If you’re new to rowing access to the Club is via one of our Learn to Row courses, a four week course for beginners. Find out more here.
  2. Experienced/lapsed rowers can apply to join by completing the membership form below.

We are very happy for prospective members to visit us to see what we are about. Please get in touch with the membership secretary Membership@goringgapbc.org.uk and we can arrange for someone to meet you to look around our club during a session time and chat to some rowers about the rowing opportunities at the club. Please note we do not offer trial rows at the club, paid or unpaid, but we do welcome visitors to see what we have to offer.

Membership Application

If you are an experienced/lapsed rower and wish to join our club please complete the online membership form including the direct debit mandate:
Goring Gap Boat Club Membership Form

Once completed our membership secretary will be in touch, get any final information that may be needed and we can then sign you up as a member.

You will then be asked to sign up for your first session which will include an induction with our Captain of Rowing, or another coach. During this induction you will find out more about how the club operates, and safety; as well as demonstrating your ability in a boat.

If, for any reason, you do not want to continue your membership after the induction session your membership will be cancelled and we will refund your membership fee.

For your safety, even if you consider yourself a competent rower you must still be assessed by a coach/captain of rowing before you may take out club boats outside of club sessions. There is a different level for summer and winter rowing.
