REGATTA SET UP
What time is set-up? Regatta set up is Wed 13th, Thurs 14th & Fri 15th July. People will be on site from 9am. Just come along to the site when you are free and report to the control tent where someone will find you a job to do. If you know of any friends or family that are free and can lend a helping hand then please bring them along. Regrettably no children on site for set up as there will be heavy vehicles and equipment being transported around the site.
What time is clear-up? Clear up is Sun 17th July. It usually starts around 9am. Just come along to the site when you are free and someone will find you a job to do. If you know of any friends or family that are free and can lend a helping hand then please bring them along.
What will I do? There will be a number of jobs to be done – whether moving equipment to/from the barn, bashing in posts, rigging boats, cleaning signs, putting up signs, setting up tables & chairs, polishing trophies, picking up litter…there is a job for everyone. Tea and coffee will be available and lunch will be provided for set-up.
What do I need to wear? Please wear sturdy footwear as it is a field and there will be plenty of lifting and shifting going on. If you are planning on doing some lifting and shifting then perhaps bring some sturdy gloves too. The weather will be mixed so please dress appropriately – sun hat & waterproofs.
Where is it? The Regatta site is located just outside Streatley on the Berkshire bank of the Thames. By Car: Leave Streatley heading North on the A329 Wallingford Road, keep right where a side road forks left to Blewbury, go through a road calming width restriction and 100 yards further on turn right down a farm lane which will be clearly signposted REGATTA. The postcode at the top of the farm lane is RG8 9PU. Follow the farm lane down to the river and this will take you to the regatta site.
Who can I contact is I have a question? Brian Barnes will be on site.
What if I have volunteered for regatta day too? You would have (or will be) receiving an email from Stuart. We will have a safety briefing on Sat morning at 8am in Race Control. If you are available then please join us. We will cover some key safety action.
