15.11.19 Message from the club Safety Officer: Due to the heavy rain over recent weeks the river level is high and flowing extremely fast. The Thames is now on red boards along all reaches with flood warnings issued in many areas. The water temperature is also at 5c.
As such it is not safe to row and we have taken the decision to cancel ALL rowing for the foreseeable future.
There are plenty of jobs to be done around the boathouse – digging a trench for the new toilets, repairing boats, building the mezzanine – so please join us from 9am on Saturday (16 Nov). Bring sturdy shoes, warm clothes and something warm to drink.
No activities planned for Sunday so enjoy a day off.
We will continue to monitor river and weather conditions daily and will advise when it is safe to resume rowing again.
