All club members are formally invited to attend the Club AGM which will be held at Goring Social Club on Wednesday 28th November starting at 7-45pm. Members will be sent a detailed agenda later this month, but the key purpose of the meeting will be to review Club activities and finances over the last year, consider any proposals (including proposals to submit a planning application on the site in Lower Basildon, and to raise annual subscriptions to £60), and to elect a new Committee for the coming year. If there is anything specific that you would like to have included in the AGM agenda, or if you wish to make your own proposal regarding the activities and rules of the Club, please can you contact the Club Secretary at email@example.com by 14th November.
Advanced date for your diary! – Saturday December 15th
After an enjoyable and successful evening last year, we shall again hold our annual dinner at the ever popular Pierreponts restaurant in Goring – Ranked #1 of restaurants in Goring-on-Thames on Trip Advisor!!
There will be a welcoming drink, a three course meal with a choice of two menus (plus vegetarian option) for around £30.
Our Chairman has promised to dress up as Father Christmas and give us a witty end of term speech (Ho, Ho, Ho ..) and Geoff will look pretty dressed in Leander pink!
Seats are strictly limited however, so this is an advanced notice, as it will be first come (with cheque!) first served.
Keep the date in your diary and Neil Derbyshire will send out further information with menu choices and reservation instructions towards the end of the month
Saturday 6th October once again saw a GGBC crew take part in The Founders Head of the River race hosted by the Société Nautique de la Basse Seine in Paris. The weekend was a masterpiece of Anglo-French coordination by Neil and Geoff.
If you have ever thought ‘I would like to try that’ or you have already tried rowing out and want to build your skills and gain confidence, The Goring Gap Boat Club will be running an autumn ‘Learn to Row’ course from the 20th October to the 10th November.
