Conditions of entry

  1. A separate entry form is required for each event, to be submitted no later than 8/7/2017. Entry numbers are limited, so please get your entry in early.
  2. No entry will be accepted without the correct entry fee.
  3. Each person may enter only ONE single gender and ONE mixed coxed four event.
  4. An organisation may enter a maximum of 6 crews in any one event i.e. a total of 6 coxed fours.
  5. Entries will be taken in the order in which they are received. When numbers are restricted a waiting list will be compiled. Entry fees for unsuccessful entries will be refunded.
  6. Should there be insufficient entries in a given class of racing, the organisers may offer the crew the opportunity to race in another class.
  7. Goring Gap Boat Club or any person acting for them shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, personal injury or death however caused arising from practising or participating in or visiting the Regatta.
  8. All rowing and sculling competitors must be able to swim the width of the river i.e. at least 50m.
  9. Life jackets for the canoes and dongolas will be provided and MUST be worn.
  10. The organisers reserve the right to withdraw a crew from the competition if they are considered to be a danger to themselves, the equipment or other river users.
  11. Races may be rerun if equipment fails within the first 100m of a race except where seats are run off their slides, in which case the race will not be rerun.
  12. Crews MUST obey directions given to them by Race Control officials & Umpires. The decisions of the Umpire are final.
  13. All crew names must be inoffensive and the organisers reserve the right to request a name change.
  14. Competitors in all events will use the boats, oars and coxes provided by GGBC only.
  15. Information given on the entry form for commentating purposes is for public broadcast.
  16. All entrants will be temporary members of Goring Gap Boat Club during training and the Regatta.
  17. Entry fees include admission to the regatta site, but it should be noted that spectators and other visitors will require their own admission ticket.
  18. No person with British Rowing (ARA) points is eligible to enter.
  19. All crews must attend at least one training session.
  20. 16/17 year olds may race as part of adult crews in coxed fours provided:
  • there are at least two adults in the crew.
  • each junior has a parent or guardian in the crew
  • the entry is accompanied with a signed declaration form
